Celebration of Rosh Hashanah

By Emag Aya on 05:40

For the beginning of the Hebrew year there are two criteria: according to the Bible, this month (the departure from Egypt: Nisan (March-April for) shall be your beginning of months, the first month of the year (Shemot Exodus 12.2) . subsequently But Jewish tradition has set the beginning of the year in the Hebrew month of Tishrei (for September-October), when we celebrate the Jewish New Year or Rosh Hashanah, he was considered the month in which God created the world. On this day according to tradition, was created the first man, Adam.

Rosh Hashanah is celebrated on the first and second day of Tishrei. This coming year, the 5773, starts on Sunday September 16, 2012 at dusk, when the first star comes out, continuing for 17 and 18 September.

The celebration begins at sunset of the previous day with the sound of the shofar, a horn that calls Jews to meditation, self-examination and repentance. It is the first day of prayer, penance and charity which end with Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), which this year begins on September 25 in the evening.

Also known as the Day of Judgment and as Remembrance Day because, according to tradition, that day God judges men, opening three books: one with the bad guys (who are inscribed and sealed for death), another , with the good (who are registered and sealed for life) and the third, for those who will be judged on Yom Kippur.

Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year), Yom Kippur with (Day of Atonement), in Jewish tradition formed a unit called Yamim Noraim (Sports austere) are days of repentance and introspection, balancing acts and actions taken of prayer and special sensitivity.

The 1st of Tishrei is not only the first day of the year, but also its "Head". As head commands to the body, just as this day is predestine all events that will occur during the year.
