President Steve Sabol NFL Films died of brain cancer at the age of 69 years.

The NFL said that Sabol had passed away Tuesday, 18 months after he had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on the right side of his brain.

Sabol began working with his father Ed, the founder of NFL Films in 1964, and innovations have revolutionized the world of broadcasting sporting events on television and helped the NFL become the most popular league in the United States States.

Ed was elected to the Hall of Fame professional football last year. Both men were awarded the Emmy for their entire career of the 'National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' in 2003.
